Based on the video game designed by Gustave Doré, in which you alternate between playing Dante Alighieri and the Roman poet Virgil casting cantos left, right and centre whilst Dorothy L. Sayers chases after you with an English/Italian dictionary.

At least that's what I wrote as my preview of the first issue, but in my disdain I fear I have confused the poor hype-monkeys at Wildstorm Central for they write:

"Alighieri's epic poem comes to life as never before in this new adaptation..."

"As never before" certainly, because it's not the poem that's being adapted but the video game which, judging by the contents here, starred a man stark naked save for his chainmail coif and a see-through St. George's cross (Dante was evidently English) who played away whilst on a Crusade and in doing so damned his lover Beatrice. It's quite erotic in an S&M kind of a way, even if the action is viewed as if from a car in the middle of a monsoon with the windscreen wipers bust.
