"How many superheroes does it take to change a light bulb?"
"What part about the name Green Lantern do you not understand?"

And so begins BLACKEST NIGHT: GREEN LANTERN... ah, you got me. I probably should mention you'll need to read this book in conjunction with BLACKEST NIGHT, corresponding issue by issue, to have half a chance of following what's going on. Your eyes will probably be swirling every colour of the spectrum by the time you finish them though, be warned, there's that much going on. I'm being a little bit harsh in my review of BLACKEST NIGHT upon reflection, as these two volumes read together, in one go, do actually do provide a moderately satisfying smash-fest conclusion to the whole BLACKEST NIGHT storyline, and they are certainly more coherent when read in one hit than over a period of a few months. And this is easily the more character-driven of the two books. Plus there is some great superhero punnage and completely over the top villainous one-liners along the lines of... "The Universe will die now..." scattered liberally throughout.
