The second and concluding volume to Baker's book on slavery, in which some of the horrors meted out on the slaves are reaped by their owners, as Turner leads a bloody - truly bloody - uprising as recounted by his confession, before being hanged from a tree. The contrast between the matter-of-fact prose and the wordless sequences of images couldn't be more striking. Baker leaves them to speak - and his readers to think - for themselves.
