So you’d like a recommendation, eh? Well here at Page 45 we pride ourselves on endeavouring to find exactly the sort of reading material that each of our individual customers will love. Those of you who’ve been in store will know exactly how it works: we ask you a few questions about which comics you’ve most enjoyed, which genre you’re interested in dipping into at the moment, or what sort of subject matter is on your minds today.

On the other hand we also appreciate that many of you might be new to the medium, in which case we’d ask what sort of prose books you read, which TV shows or films you’ve loved, or any special interests you have. The same if you’re buying for someone else – tell us a little about them!

From that information we’ll be able to recommend three to five graphic novels as a starting point that we’re sure you or they will be interested in. We don’t typically show people more books than that because we’ve found through experience that too much information can make your eyes glaze over. But we do have a very high success rate, and the best feeling in the world is someone returning for a second round saying, “I loved the last book you recommended, where do I go from here?” The better we grow to know you as individuals, the more accurate our recommendations become.
