Jupiter's moon Europa is wrapped in a half-mile-thick mantle of ice, and beneath it is the only off-world ocean known to humanity. A tiny research station in orbit around Europa discovers things under the ice—things that send U.N. weapons inspector Nathan Kane to Europa to make an assessment. Thousands of coffins are suspended in the Europan ocean, and Kane and the researchers aren't the only people in orbit who want to know what's inside them.
